Long time no see 😅

here is a small update done today

• updated it to be synchronized 100% with latest tfs
• updated items.xml with like 99% of 10.98 items
• added a few missing monsters
• updated the alladdons/mounts commands to give literally everything

there is still lots of things to do to really catch up to 10.98 version, mostly missing map parts and missing monsters

but enjoy this project as a base for a 10.98 RL map project

It's weird, but loot doesn't work for me.
No single error in the console. I downloaded the newest version.
I am using this TFS (nightly binary from Appveyor).

I highly suggest anyone that is using this datapack to download the latest version I just uploaded!

important fixes since my last post here:

• changed map file format from .rar to .zip
• fixed most of the wrong doors
• removed a few duplicated walls in venore
• added missing pigeons to venore
• removed some corpses at a ankrahmun tomb
• removed custom shortcut to demona
• added lots of missing pirates and other monsters to yalahar
• removed actionId 1001 from locked doors and changed them to the locked version
• removed no-pvp zone from whole rookgaard
• fixed a few house exits
• added Ben and Rosimarie npcs
• lots of spawns fixes and enhancements
• added isle of the kings monks spawn and key actionID to open the door
• fixed eventcallbacks not working
• added missing monsters

the eventcallback fix is really important

The only issues I've seen so far are (and apologies, I think you already know about them):

• Rookgaard Tutorial Quest (The Beginning) broken - can't get into Zirella's house so can't progress the quest
• Rookgaard Island of Destiny NPCs have no dialog, so you can't get into the vocation dungeons or leave the island 😂

But everything on mainland onwards so far has been fine.

yeah I'm aware sorry but I currently have no plan in fixing non mainland content, I'll focus on mainland only, but everybody else is welcome to contribute with the project and submit pull requests to fix these issues, I'll be glad to review and merge them!

No worries, that's more than fair! 😀 I'm only really putting it here so it's documented for the future.

I've got a lot of nostalgia for Rookgaard, so I might have a hack and see what I can do. Also no promises - I've still got a lot to learn with how all this stuff works!

it was good while it lasted but I'm not continuing this project anymore because of a few reasons:

• I share @Printer opinion about how crowded otservlist is with rl map servers
• tfs master is not 10.98 anymore (its now 12.81 for those of you who are not aware)
• there is no point (for me) to spend countless hours in an unending race to copy cipsoft work (it was nice at 10.x or so, but now there is just TOO MUCH content)

ok forget what I've written before, new year, new me

thanks to @torresmon and @Marco Oliveira , we are kind of working on it again, what have been done since last post:

• Updated stuff to latest tfs once again, datapack is now full 12.86 version (no, not full content, only compatible with 12.86 RME and stuff)
• Added a few missing items
• Added a few map parts
• Etcetera

keep in mind that originally, ORTS stopped at version 10.70 or something, and even there, it already missed lot of content

our current goal with working on this project is to provide an alternative "real map" datapack for those who like to use TFS and not other engines


will it be stable? we don't intend to add too much trash code to it, and source code is tfs-master, nothing custom will be added.

a few remarks:

• no scripts/files from other engines (ORIGINAL CONTENT ONLY)
• no 0.4 codding (your code should be able to run without compat.lua file)
• no custom scripts
• we are not moving everything to Lua/revscriptsys
• our aim is to maintain as much compatibility with TFS master as possible

this project might die again in a near future, but bear with us while we are at it
