Yea you are right, the maximum amount of online players on a real tibia server was on Aurora:
Online Record: 1152 players (on Sep 12 2012, 17:25:30 CEST)

And it's a 2x server, not a normal one.

Astera (for example):
Online Record: 1051 players (on May 31 2009, 19:40:30 CEST)

A difference of 549 players if you compare Shadowcores with Astera, insane.

He read a proposal that was considered by cipsoft about grouping "dead" worlds together.
