If I were to seriously create and develop a 5th vocation, what kind would it be?

I've always wanted to do something like this, create a new vocation to go with the original 4.
It will certainly be balanced, it will have its own spells, it will just be something new.
I will release it to everyone and update it whenever Tibia updates their vocation (to be balanced).

My goal is to create this vocation to become a normal vocation that every server would have.

I would love to help you with this Evan, my suggestion is a Bard, because there is already items in the game that could be converted into weapons for them. It's quite simple to add the weapons imo.

What would they specifically be best for?
Providing buffs? How would they damage other creatures?

What weapons are you talking about? Am I forced to change an item that already has a purpose, into a weapon?

Other classes I had in mind; Thief, Assassin, Naturewielder

It's actually a pretty simple thought for me, Yet I've been thinking about it forever now lol.

Bard, they are the best at providing buffs, and casting DoT (Damage over Time) spells, they will have few spells that create a lot of damage at one time, but they will have a few to aid them.

and for the weapons, no the items do not have a purpose that I know of. Things such as (drum, harp (Would have to be edited to pick-up(able), panpipes, lyre, wooden flute) would all be a part of their weapon-class. You could also use the fanfare and other instruments, but that's totally up to you.

Well, about the weapons, my goal is to try to make this vocation a global norm.
I'm hoping to make a vocation that every server would have and it would just be a normal vocation like the others.
I mean, why stick with the original four? Let's make something new, then maybe CipSoft can copy the idea and put it in their game.
So, by doing this, I don't want to entirely erase the original purpose of an item (instrument; creates music) and turn it into a weapon.

It will still create music as if they would now, it's just the bard has the power to harness the music and turn it into something no other vocation does.

I can see where you're going now, that might not be a bad idea, I just wish you could equip the instrument.

Ahh that's lame, there goes that idea lol. Can't re-do sources now. What if it's given a special in the items.xml?

Code:
<attribute key="weaponType" value="" />

@double sorry.

We could make it so that it's a shield, or a wand type. higher ml = stronger spells?

Would be a lot better in a custom client, with edited sources and things to add skills lol.

i have an idea , you might like it ... , you make new vocation that is should be good blocker like a knight... but , his attacks like a mage , but be slowly , and heal potions like paladin or something :P

Yeah, I don't know. A bard is something that I might consider if I had more planning with it.
I'm going to try to brainstorm for other ideas and see how they'd fare among other vocations.
Like a buff-providing bard, I'm looking for something unique, something that a player would specifically play for.
Sorcerer and Druids are both mages, but both have entirely different roles.
A paladin can shoot arrows/bolts and a knight is a knight.

@Sirion_Mido, this is like a disaster waiting to happen.

I didn't read many of the above posts, but I believe in order to create a new vocation you must redefine the current vocations.
Knights are their own vocation. Paladins are half-knights half-mages. Sorcerers are almost the same as druids (hence, mages).
If you made each of those four vocations stand alone, it would pave way to a path for multiple vocations.

Yeah, that's where I'm struggling to find the "uniqueness" for a new vocation.
Like two kinds of mages, what if there were two kinds of knights?

Well since the current knight doesn't really do 'damage' like pally or mages maybe it could be a 2 handed knight, like you can't wear a shield and your shielding is scaled down but your attack goes up, eg; you wear 2 swords or 2 axes etc.

Well if you wanted to differentiate knights it'd be simple. A knight that's a massive damage-dealer to foes around him, and a knight that can block even the fiercest creature.

Eh, now that I'm thinking about it, a plain knight is already made to be attackers and defenders.
There's no clear separation like the mages. I'm starting to go back to bards and figure something out, hell, might even consider thieves and assassins.

What about something like a Necromancer from D2? Talking about summoner build specifically, I know we already have summons system and such but what about a vocation that'd mainly focus on summons only and these summons would be like kind of smarter than regular ones? Like some AI to keep up with targeting priority and such.
