They are converting the server sources to allow all clients from 8.54 to 8.57 because there is no client changes or anything that could cause a debug/crash/incompatibility.

Why? a larger range of players can connect to your server without needing multiple clients.

Say your server accepts 8.54 clients. If you edit the server sources, you can allow people with 8.54, 8.55, 8.56 and 8.57 client to connect to your server. All clients joining your server will work perfect and it gives them a larger range of clients to use to connect. TFS 0.3.6pl1 and 0.4 have support for all of those tibia clients (after changing the allowed client version range)

Understand it any better?
