Ambient Light Question - Confirmation

My understanding here is the ambient light functionality is actually client-side?
So there isn't anything you can do from the Server side to lock it down?
No creative ideas?

I couldn't find the question answered in past threads, its implied.. but you never know if you don't ask.

It is controlled on both, the client through a hex address and the server through a flag, however the client can override the server no matter what the flag is set to.
