Compiling Any tutorial on how to compile in win x64 ??

am installing the visual studio professional 2012 while we chat i havent tried yet, i guess i tought it was better to find a tutorial before trying.

are you sure there is nothing i should know before compiling it?
can i maybe follow a tutorial for compiling on x32?? would it be the same?
