Greetings!

I've recently started a project aiming at resurrecting the old Tibian experience. The experience of Tibia 6.4. This effort will require new game server software, which we call Cyclops. Cyclops is based mainly on the work of Jopirop and his TOS Server, and takes a lot of inspiration from the SharpOT project. The server software is written in C# (Mono) and runs on multiple platforms (currently verified to run on Windows 7 and Linux). Planned features include much better SQLite database management (ported from SharpOT) and OpenTibia (.otbm) map loading for later Tibia versions (7.1 and later), which will allow the server software to use a wide variety of maps.

What we very much need right now is someone who can help us create an item conversion table that maps Tibia 7.x item ID's to Tibia 6.4 item ID's. If someone could help us with this it would be very much appreciated. A list of Tibia 6.4 items (including ID's, names, attributes, etc) is available here: items64.xml. This is needed for the planned map system.

If you wish to support the project or have any sort of feedback or comment on it, please let us know. More information and a (binary) preview release can be found at the projects blog. The source code is available in the Cyclops repository.

Best regards,
ultr

The project is put on hold at the moment. I'm incredibly busy. But it's certainly not dead. When I have more time I'll get to work on the objectives listed on the blog. If anyone feels interested in helping out in any way, please contact me.

I'm anxious to see this be completed, I've never gotten to play tibia that was that old. I started around 7.1, It'd be really nice to see the different game-play. Please don't quit like everyone else does when the going gets tough.

The going is not that tough to be honest. It's just a question of lack of time.

I actually have a list of item ID's mapping them from 7.1 to 6.4. This will allow the server to load maps created for Tibia 7.1 (after I've written the OTBM-loader). The plan is to update the list with 7.4 item ID's, since there are a lot more maps available for 7.4 than for 7.1. Writing the OTBM-loader is a pretty big job, so that may take some time.

Porting the database handling from SharpOT shouldn't be a too much work, though. I should be able to do that pretty easily.

So I do have a plan, I just need more time, or someone to help me with the coding (the code is available for everyone at berserker - Multi-platform open source server for Tibia 6.4. - Google Project Hosting).

If you have any ideas or want to help out, once again, please let me know!
