Bad/Wrong password for localhost.xaampp/security.

Can anyone help with this? It wont recognize my password or I dont remember it correctly....

Ive tried changing the password through xampp by using the following

mysqladmin.exe -u root password 'secret'

But than it says
mysqladmin.exe: conncect to server at localhost failed.
Cant Connect to mysql server on localhost '(10061)'
Check that mysql is running on localhost and that the port is 3306.
You can check this by doing 'telnet localhost 3306'

Someone please help, without password for root (xampp/security) I cant setup my database etc.

Well, my best suggestion is that you use Uniform Server (Safer) or reinstall xampp to make the password work
