Hello everyone,

I've recently come back to the idea of hosting my own OT server after a 10+ year break, and find myself needing to catch up on a lot of changes.

After glancing through the Distributions page, I noticed there are a lot more different kinds of servers and clients than in my "prime". Therefore, I'm reaching out with this post, hoping I can get some advice or suggestions for distributions.

Primarily, I'm looking for a server that has:
  • Server stability
  • A client version near retail/real Tibia (14.00)
  • Identical map in regards to hunting spawns and open areas
  • A "life-like" as possible creature system (though more so regarding behavior than drop tables for example)
  • Near-identical functionality for runes and amulets/necklaces
  • Simple and quick character creation - in-client is acceptable
Less important:
  • Optimal NPC system
  • Quests
  • Custom content
  • Shop/donation functions
  • Other purely RPG/PvE functions
  • A perfectly optimized and feature-packed website

In terms of hosting options etc, I'm open to suggestions as there will likely be a learning curve ahead of me either way. The more suggestions the merrier.

Really looking forward to hearing any input you might have, and please let me know if there is any complementary information I can provide.

Many thanks for taking the time!

A while ago out of pure curiosity, I was looking at the forums and distributions, to see how the datapacks and updates in general were going, and there really is a lot of good and usable content, but the way you put it there, for free, what else They are up to date in terms of versions and content of the real Tibia are the open source projects, which in this case is TFS 1.6 and Canary OTBR.

Anyway, this is what I observed but I will follow your post, as someone else may probably have better information than mine.

If it is useful, I will leave the GitHub of the 2 open sources that I mentioned above.
