Just watched this video. It's about a boy who lost his eyes to cancer at the age of three and remarkably taught himself echolocation (think of bats) to theoretically see objects.

I found out after the video though that unfortunately he died about 2 years after this was made due to re-occurring cancer. It's a real shame, he knew what he wanted in life and was determined to not let his blindness get in his way.

If your into this sort of stuff I would suggest you watch it.
 
I've heard of him before, it's amazing what he can do.
 
Bat echolocation is a perceptual system where ultrasonic sounds are emitted specifically to produce echoes.

What he is doing isn't exactly the same but still similar, and amazing

Yeah I know it's not exactly the same but like you said, similar. And yeah it's amazing what some people can do, I think we have barely scratched the surface of what humans could be capable of.
