Can't load map

So, I made an 8.6 map in the newest version of RME, and just now I tried opening it with an older version that has 8.6 support (since I can't use the newest version on an XP computer which is what I have to use right now), and it says Unsupported client version! (8). What the hell is going on here?

Try opening a blank map and click on Import Map, then import the bugged map and place it in the correct location and import housefile.xml and spawnfile.xml into the new map directory.

Whenever I do that, it just stops working completely and gives me an error report window and then another window that says Dr.(some name that starts with an M)'s post-mortem debugger has encountered an error and needs to close. So, ya know...
