Complaint chat system

[Catastrophe]

Introduction:
For so many years,otland was asking for chat system now that it's here it's not good enough.
Problem:
My problem,Which may occur to many people,that it's so simple in which it's so bad,I cannot simply see if there's a chat at any moment,I don't see like in my tabs "New Message" Nor a sound.
Solution:
Simply,Get a private Otland system chat.
Extra Solution:
It would be good enough if i can talk to my friends on otland,Same as facebook.

Please post your extra ideas/Complains so i can post them here also.

Why not use the IRC, instant messaging can be achieved through using the /msg command or /query command.

I had some vbulletin forums, and I know for a fact that there are some good plugins for a chatbox, or a shoutbox.

It has more features, works and looks like facebook chat, and they can be disabled it you don't want them.

Don Daniello's idea is good. I've tested CometChat at MyBB forum and it works great.

We will most likely not get such a chat system. If you want to get sound from the current IRC Chat, you can all download X-chat (or any other dedicated IRC client), and join the Otland channel there over Quakenet.

And you can make your computer speakers blow a ******* tuba when somebody writes to you.
Please don't make me give you a tutorial for that. D:

The current IRC chat system allows you to chat in "public chat" available to everybody to view, and you can left click a persons name in the menu to the left to have a private dialogue with them(query).
It is a full fledged chat system. Without the annoying crap you guys are missing. :S

This Chat system looks nice, actually, it will help alot with collaborating when you have a project.
Since you can make private Chatrooms(by password or invitation only) for your group, to work in, it features a few collaborative tools such as Whiteboard , collaborative Document, you can also share your screen(which will help in helping those less technically inclined users.

I would have to say, that other than this being a 'luxury' it is also an useful tool.
