CipSoft just mass-deleted thousands of players (top-levels)

Yesterday and today, CipSoft executed their largest mass-ban (deletion) wave in a very long time.

Several top-lvls were deleted. Including rare item collectors like Diegothais (Antica) with many items like Winged Helmet, Golden Helmet, etc.

Meanwhile, some known cheaters remain in the game, at least for now. It seems the majority (or all) of these deleted players used macros at some point in time. Several level 2000+ are gone. People are flocking to the Char Bazaar to sell of their characters now. Most likely false-positive detections as well. But it's nice to see CipSoft clean the game. Even though they just lost a lot of paying customers now, if they want to survive, they have to get rid of dominando guilds and people that use Tibia as their main source of income.

The total sum of cash lost is unknown. It's impossible to know how much Tibia Coins or rares these players had. But it's for sure in the millions in Euros/Dollars. Some players (rare item collectors) had 50-100k USD worth of items by themselves. Literally thousands of players were deleted in the last two days.

About 3800 characters got deleted since yesterday. The number goes up every hour. It seems people refrain from logging in as they think they will get deleted then. Some people on Twitch got deleted immediately after logging in. What's going on?! :D I'm happy to see so many cheaters lose their stuff though. A lot of these deserve it.

"Sorry for the inconvenience" for those who got wrongfully deleted though. Could also be OBS software that is being detected. Who knows?

That's one thing I just don't understand. A lot of South Americans use Tibia as their main source of income. They could easily educate themselves and find remote work. It's not that difficult, honestly. As long as you can learn some English and then pickup a skill like programming, economics, design. They all got computers and internet access, it's all you need to make a living online. Covid-19 proved that.

Playing games should never be considered a job. And if they play to earn a living, then why are they deliberately violating the Tibia Rules? It doesn't makes any sense! They are completely careless.

Brazil is not even that bad. There's so many people from worse countries that earn a nice chunk of money online through remote jobs. If they also can't fix the country they live in then they should move abroad and find a better life somewhere else. Playing Tibia for a few hundred Euros per month isn't sustainable for anyone. A lot of these Brazilian streamers got computers worth a few thousand dollars and they got a few thousand more in TCs in the game. It's not like they are dead broke. They just don't know how to use money correctly or how adult life works (you are supposed to find a real job). At the very least, they could learn how to invest money and use the stock market. But nooo... they decide to farm monsters in a game from 1997.

In my opinion, all the players that use Tibia as their main (or only) source of income are the laziest people I've ever seen. And they do not think long-term. If CipSoft didn't delete them, they would continue to play Tibia until they are 40-45 years old. Imagine being 40+ years old and earning 300-500 Euro per month from a 2D game. That's pathetic! They are wasting their time and ruining the game for everyone else.

The only ones I could sympathize with were the Venezuelans a few years ago when they literally earned $6 per month on average with closed borders and a socialist government, but that's improved a lot in recent years. Brazilians on the other hand doesn't have those excuses and they got open borders.

I can't even imagine spending my entire 20's and 30's playing Tibia for a living, all day every day, with no plans for the future. And no plan to get any type of education or to improve my family's life. These people are careless and lazy. They deserve losing it all. Maybe then they will wake up and get a job.

It seems to be completely random. Some people using for years and no deletion, some for a few days only and were deleted. Others didn’t use on accounts for months and deleted while their other account was deleted.

I was deleted on an account with 700ed, 450ed, 420rp and some other shit chars but wasn’t deleted on my 1k rp account. Seems to be inconsistent at best.

Some people were deleted for just using auto ssa and might ring, others were using full scripts like auto magic shield, auto haste, anti para and they weren’t deleted.

For me I was using auto ssa, might ring and healer but I won’t use anymore XDDDD

I think Cipsoft done a favor for those people (I'm not a fun destroyer but....) one of them is my friend in real life he ruined his life divorced his wife,his kids doesn't even know him because he is addicted to real tibia ... the funny part is that even after he got deleted he called me to play some open tibia servers xD

But still kinda depressing to see your 18 years character got deleted.

Your account is probably flagged anyway and you'll get deleted later. I remember I botted account with some shitty lvls like 50 and eventually after few years it got deleted even after several ban waves and I wasnt using that account anymore.
 
Most of the bots now are using pixel detection, so they wanted to ban all scripts/autohotkey
the issue is that a lot of people use all kind of macros for QoL/remapping, not for botting
 
Real Tibia has been shit for years. What CipSoft did was a good move, however, it was too late. They always do stuff like this 10 years too late. Can't they just kill the game once and for all? It's a trash game these days, with a trash player base. Like 80% of all players only play it to pay their IRL bills. That's not sustainable. There's real extortion going on in the South American/Brazilian game worlds.

Shit players with favela mentality, shit game developers and shit game updates. Just kill it already.

Now they're on the crypto train. They will turn Tibia coins into a crypto currency, Tibia Token, to try and save the game. What an absolute mess.

It's insane that the OT community has so much better folks.

Well... duh? Who said my thoughts are the only valid thoughts? Nobody.
But I'm far from alone in thinking the game is trash and that CipSoft has done a horrible job in the last 15 or so years.

Objectively, the game is trash. Even CipSoft realizes many parts of the game is trash and needs to be fixed. That's why they continuously try to implement money sinks and executes mass-deletion waves. They realize the game experience is bad for newcomers and they're doing everything they can to make it playable and fun. They've started spending money on advertisements for the first time in a very long time. Yet players are leaving the game because of various reasons.

Just because the average player is spending more on the game than 7 years ago doesn't mean the game is doing fine. CipSoft as a company is doing fine. But Tibia as a game has dropped significantly in popularity in recent years. Those are two separate things.

It is a dated game, with very few quality updates in recent years. And they have lost their sense of creativity. Quite literally every single major update for the past 8 years has been about implementing a "lever boss" that you get to after completing X amount of tasks in a quest. Meanwhile they make PvP completely useless, they refuse to deal with the "dominando guilds" and they have let botters roam freely for years without any repercussions. Mass-deleting a couple thousand cheaters in 2024 will indeed improve the game slightly for the rest of the players, but Tibia has so many other issues that needs to be dealt with.

People just use the game as a 2D chat client while they spend hundreds of EUR on exercise weapons in their houses like NPCs. Occassionally they go and kill a boss or two and then logout. That's literally how the game is. Sign in to Antica, the most popular game world, and have a look at Thais and other cities. You will find that hundreds of players are just idling in the game - out of habit. The gameplay is dead.
