I used Ubuntu 14.04 and never have problem to compile othire, however, i must change to 16.04, and i am having an error when try to compile:
checking for libxml - version >= 2.6.5... no
*** Could not run libxml test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the
*** exact error that occurred. This usually means LIBXML was incorrectly installed
*** or that you have moved LIBXML since it was installed. In the latter case, you
*** may want to edit the xml2-config script: /usr/bin/xml2-config
but i have libxml2 installed (apt-get install libxml2-dev) and in the last version 2.9.10
