Well my first complaint is that somebody started a thread that made a joke out of the thousands that were killed in the protests in Egypt, Bahrain, Libya, etc.., and I received an infraction for defending those who were killed but the other person did not receive an infraction for starting a thread which made a joke out of thousands of dead people. My complaint is that the mods cherry pick who gets infractions and who doesn't, I get an infraction for saying moron, but somebody who makes fun of thousands of dead people doesn't get an infraction. You can't confront someone without risking an infraction for "being offensive". I think that the mods should make up their mind. Either give everybody infractions that deserve them, or stop being such panzees and giving infractions for stupid things.

I accept your apology, however my I stick by my complaint about mods. They still pick and choose which posts to give an infraction to. And they give too many infractions for stupid things.

Dixter, I understand your complaint, but you love to argue. I would probably bet if someone went through your profile and clicked "Find all posts by Dixter" they would find a lot of which are discriminating, offensive, or unnecessarily aggressive posts. You need to relax. I understand that his thread purpose was ridiculous but you were attacking him. I think Mig was just doing what he's suppose to as a moderator, there's no reason to punish him for such an action. He removed a thread that shouldn't have been created in the first place.
Dixter, I have found many posts in that thread where you called people 'morons' and 'assholes', though I think I could find even more.
I have also warned you some time ago when you called people generally (all posters in thread) 'fucktards'.
The conclusion is that your infraction is perfectly justified. You should evaluate your language and probably agree with me. And I agree with you on your opinion in that thread.

I am not agruing that I did not use offensive language, although I did not call anyone "fucktards", but my argument is that if I get an infraction for using "soft words" like "moron" and "idiot" then the poster should have gotten an infraction for an inapropriate post as well, however I'm not saying I want him to get one since he already apologized. My main complaint is that the moderators give infractions basically at random for the smallest things, but often ignore more serious infractions. My opinion is that if the moderators are going to be that strict then they should be strict everywhere and on everybody, if not that then they should be more leniant and I wouldn't have made this thread in the first place.

OtLand is no dictatorship, and I think the moderators can agree with me in this... your case was in no way handled strictly.

The thread was maybe inappropriate, but hey, that's no excuse to start a flame war. and by maybe I mean, that you as a person with a different ideology could had show him a different point of view peacefully, but instead you decided to go the hard way and tried to impose your ideology with insults. Two bads do not make one good.
Anyway... If my judgement offended anyone then I apologize as it wasn't my intention in any way.

Sometimes infractions look random when they're not. This is when moderator comes across Nth post with minor rule violation. So you get your infraction for a bunch of posts, while someone has not posted enough to make moderator give him infraction. However, how do you know that someone didn't get infracted ?

It's the principle of the thing, that he gave me an infraction for "offensive language", while at the time of my infraction somebody was making a joke out of thousands of dead people and somehow that's a "different ideology"? Well then lets put it this way, in his "ideology" he makes fun of dead people, in my "ideology" I use "offensive language" so maybe "you as a person with a different ideology could have shown me different point of view"? dixter i understand what you saying because i was with you, and alot of my posts got deleted. i think the reason you got an infraction was because you used inappropriate language toward somebody. while he didn't. even though he was making fun of dead people

After a few that took everything way too serious he started "Not giving a f*ck" if you can remember but primarily it was not about what you state in this thread.

I'm sorry for posting on a closed thread but I feel the need to post my opinion. I, personally, would have taken into account Gldnbr's infraction/warning record and would have acted accordingly. I am not sure if he was really sorry for his mistake or he just wanted to go around our punishment system, but an offense is an offense. He's pretty aware of the rules.
Moderators usually don't jump into a discussion and look who is correct and who is not. It is not our job to judge or take any sides at all. However, we read a post with otland rules in our back head, and once we find sufficient proof of an otland rule violation, we take actions upon it. When you are in a discussion, even if it is aggressive, you can state your opinion in a mature way without breaking the rules on otland. If you have forgotten the rules on otland, feel free to read them at this link: Rules
Also, if you see a thread with lots of "rule violations" and you feel that only your posts are being moderated, it is most likely because somebody have specific reported your post. Which gives it top prior moderation. Feel free to help us out, by reported every post you see which violates the rules on otland.
