Computers

this is what i have put together, the numbers on the left is the price in euros.
240 NVidia GeForce Gtx960 (GPU)
250 Intel Core i5-4690K Devil's Canyon Processor 3.5GHz 5.0GT/s 6MB LGA 1150 CPU, (CPU)
90 GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3P (motherboard)
90 8GB (2x4GB) Corsair DDR3 Vengeance Pro Series Red (RAM)
65 1TB HGST 0J22423 Travelstar 7K1000 (HDD)
55 Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-01 RED LED 7 Case Mid Tower (Case)
60 600W Corsair Builder Series CX, Non Modular, 80 PLUS Bronze, 1x120mm Fan, ATX, PSU (Power)

What are your opinions?
What should be changed, if you know of where to find parts with similar specs :)

Basically you want to fill these slots: And in this order!

  1. Pick a Motherboard
  2. Pick a CPU that fits that motherboard (There are many CPU/Motherboard combos you can buy that may save you money)
  3. Pick a case (Make sure the case will fit the Motherboard you bought. I always just buy Full Sized Chassis because I like monster-sized cases)
  4. Pick your RAM (Make sure this ram fits the motherboard you are buying, you can double-check by using crucial.com and selecting the motherboard)
  5. Pick your video card (Basically every video card fits every PCI-Express Slot so this shouldn't be hard)
  6. Pick your Hard Drives/SSD (Most people suggest you get a SSD for your windows installation, then a 2nd hard drive for games/etc)
  7. Pick your Power Supply (Make sure your power supply has enough wattage to power the above items)
Putting a PC together is easy: (Basically just requires a screw driver, and most cases come with instructions)

You have an AMD Motherboard with an Intel CPU. Won't fit.

The GA-970A-UD3P only fits AM3+ Socket CPUs from AMD.

But your CPU is a LGA 1150 Socket from Intel.

Most people here suggest Intel (I actually hate all intel products they can go suck a dick) so you'll need to find a Motherboard with a LGA 1150 socket.

Here is the LGA 1150 socket motherboards on Newegg.com

**EDIT**

Also if you want to just keep the AMD Motherboard

The following processor is faster and cheaper than the one you selected.
AMD FX-9590 Eight-Core

Since all AMD Processors are cheaper-per-benchmark-speed than basically all Intel Processors, you get a ton more speed for less money.

It all fits, I think, i haven't checked on the RAM, but I am pretty sure all of those items should at LEAST work together

haha ;D when i said 700 euro that was excluding windows, but eh.. paying a bit more for a pc that will do me alot of good :)

^ sounds good mate, where u from
I'm from ireland mate, ordering the pc from uk.

I'm pretty sure it all fits because i used this website www.pcspecialist.co.uk/
they give you the ability to put together a pc and get it made and shipped out to you, i dont think they would give me the option to choose a part if it didnt fir ;D

Cant wait to order this and play some good games xD

Have fun :) Make sure you download steam, and buy games when they are on sale!

humble bundle is also a good place to get cheap games.

A guy on the pcspecialist forum said " The spec you posted seems unbalanced with a low end cpu" coult you tell me what he means by this??
is it something i should worry about? I'm just being as cautious as i can :l

dont get the gtx 970 or 980 or any of these series, when the card goes over 3.4gb of ram usage it will slow down so much that you may as well be using intel family integrated graphics... you could get the 760 or if you got a bit more money then 780 etc. Or go for AMD r9 290 which is also really good

really? ive looked around and people say the new gtx960 is fairly decent, il do some research on the AMD r9 290x
them 2 cards are the ones ive been deciding with, i will see what people say on youtube :)
Thanks for advise :)

Another thing, when it comes to installing the operating system, get a 120gb or 240gb SSD for the operating system, and keep the HDD for storage - this way your computer will boot and run faster

Thanks for the website :)
also from what ive read people choose the gtx 960 because it runs well temperature wise if you get what i mean xD
I will have a look into it more
