Copyright Concerns: Dockerizing SabrehavenServer and OTClient

Hello,

I’m considering Dockerizing the SabrehavenServer repository to make it ready-to-run, including all dependencies pre-configured for easy compilation and building. However, I want to ensure there are no copyright issues before proceeding.

The Sabrehaven repository includes the real Tibia map (world.otbm) and possibly other assets. From what I understand, the map was converted using the Map Editor, which might mean it’s not an exact 1-to-1 copy of the original. Does this still count as copyright infringement?

Additionally, I’m planning to create a Docker container for OTClient with all dependencies included, ready for building. Since OTClient doesn’t include Tibia.spr or Tibia.dat, does that mean it’s free from copyright issues? Or are there other legal concerns I should be aware of?

I’d appreciate any advice or insights on these matters before moving forward with these projects.

Thank you in advance!

To be fair this is a forum for pirates ayyy. Contributing by reverse engineering a copyrighted game is not legal but neither that much illegal so we could have issues with that- plus a purpose for that illegal activity is for educational purposes and not to open enterprise company what means it is trivial more or less. Also, nobody in the forum here is a lawyer to tell you 100% legit information you just have to use common-sense. Also avoiding to include tibia assets is a good idea.

The most importantly have fun and goodluck with your ideas :)

i dont think owners of any particular otserver have tought about it so far so good. In case someone knocks on your door just be ready to microwave your ssd and you should be fine
