Hi,
so recently a server took a heavy downfall of a DDOS attack running 7.72 nekiro's downgrade + myacc 0.8~ on port 7172.
Port 80, 443 and 7172 was under heavy attack and fell down.

My question is, how do I configure a machine's safety over IPTables and such to avoid this in the future of machine's I setup and my own?

Running iptables, denying all traffic had the attack still running for some reason.
Added karnel tweaks to limit all dataflow, together with Fail2Ban and a configuration.

The attack died out somewhere along the way, but it may just have been that it stopped to up the server to run again to DDOS it once more.

So my question is,
how do I setup a decent DDOS protection of a Ubuntu machine?

All knowledge base is heavily welcome!

The ddos attacking getting out of control now
Sure is,
he already had a thread I am reading through regarding this issue and we're checking out proxies and load balancers and will work on setting that up.

I've managed to implement some sort of singular simple DDOS system for ubuntu systems running Nginx that'll stop smaller attacks, sadly it's dependant on the attack and the limitations of the system's resources to minimize an attack.

I might publish this publicly later on once I've understood how to setup proxies, load balancers and such.
Thread closed down.
