Linux [Debian and Ubuntu] got same commands?

Hello, im soon going to order a dedicated server (Linux)

So i've seen many protection for Debian are they going to work if i use ubuntu too? they got the same commands? everything the same?


which iof them is easier to have for beginner:o?

Ubuntu is based off of Debian. Most of the commands are the same. The biggest difference is that Debian doesn't have a root user, like Ubuntu.

You have root access, but there is no root user. They are different things.

Edit: Woops, seems I was wrong. Must've been thinking of another distribution.

for me both are the same cuz I dont use desktop so theres no big difrence. Ubu is easier but debian more stable. Try first ubu in my opinion.

@edit forgot to say i prefer Debian :P Using it at dedicated but i`m using ubu at my nootebook

ubuntu is based on debian so for debian and ubuntu they will ,cent os is too based like debian on redhad.
