Linux Debian or Ubuntu

Hi there, I have been working with Debian for the latest months on a quad core 3,2 ghz with 8 GB ram and when having 300+ players, it lags a lot, one core charges arround 99~100% of usage...

I tried of everything, changing host, increasing ram, changing processor, etc...

And now I have in mind (because I was talking with a friend) and he said that it could be the OS software...

Im planning to change to Ubuntu, do you think that will have a change?

if you are getting very nice results, better keep going with debian.

The fact is that using Debian, when having 300+ players, one core uses 100% of usage and get some lag... That's why Im asking.

try to optimize your database? or can be your got much querys in your serverpack and one procces suckly?

The database does not have anything to see
It had lag on having begun or to choose the character
And on having gone out some chars were losing his accounts ai serious the database
But not in the gameserver :>

+1, Probably have memory leaks in your scripts. You should remove scripts bit-by-bit to see which one is giving you lag.

Fixed, it was a loop!
Thanks to everyone for answers, and stian, repped for that suggestion, now 400 online and 40% usage on a core!
