So I was just messing abit with overclocking when I over clocked my gtx 560 2gb (non ti) to 1085 core MHZ and 2500 MHZ memory clock

It was 950 before overclocking it but still 2500 MHZ for memory clock.

So once I pressed apply my screen went pitch black for 3 seconds and came back with over 100 nvidia pop up error message, didn't bother to read I just rushed to my case and closed it.

The first time I remember this happening when I was also messing with my gpu and I made the gpu overclock abit too far and the screen went purple and I also rushed and closed it.

Did I just fuck my lifetime of my gpu?

And what max core and memory MHZ for overclocking?

I saw a gtx 550 doing 1085 core overclock, why can't I do that especially that I got the gtx 560?

just an offtopic question, is it okay to run all the time gaming on 100% fan speed?

Clocking has the potential to destroy your computer components yes, but I don't think doing it once will necisarrily mean that it's now gone. My advice leave it at the default factory settings for now, there's a reason they have it there. Use Diagnostic Tools, you'll be able to find out if it's gone faster than me having to ask things.

My guesses are that either it can't handle that or it overloaded. (ties into the first one I know)

So did I just shorten my gpu life time?

I was overclocking just to get the right fps to play battlefield on 1080p with solid 60+ although i still get 50-55 fps.

Don't know as I said run some diagnostic tools, I would like to think you didn't but I've never overclocked because I don't want to lose components right after I get them.

Google> Search> Diagnostic Tools for GPU or GPU lifespan w/e they've made diagnostic tools for almost anything.

I'd just like to state that my temp of gpu is becoming extremely low the idle used to be 35 now its 27, does that means anything?

Thanks for the replies guys.

I wouldn't recommend overclocking, I used to overclock mine, for over 6 months, and when I formatted my PC, i suddenly gained 40 FPS in all games with no overclock, however I'm talking about a GT240 DDR3 from MSI, meaning it's a perfomance video card, and I love it <3
