Downloads Counter

Is it possible to preserve Downloads Counter in Downloads section when editing first post by moderator with new download file?

Counter is per attachment. If you (or we) remove an attachment and add a new one, the counter starts from 0.

Bad :[ Cause I update often my plugins and then I ask everytime moderator to update attachment, and then it starts counting from 0.
