Without pillars but maybe put like a big archway/ "welcome to port/docks" kind of thing there? Like using the wooden collumns or something. Nice still. I like the ship.. nice idea and nicely done.

Its possible to make tiles un-pushable, I've seen it before on Ascalon-world(Fare superpowers).
