Seeing alot of the non-English speaking (and some sloppy, lazy English speaking members) application of certain language aspects being used incorrectly, i have decided to provide this small guide. Since the non-fluent English community learn from those who can speak English and sloppy use by said English speakers leads to a mass retardation, i feel this is necessary.

Lesson one: What are nouns and how should we use them?

In short, a noun is a label. These are terms and/or words that are used to 'label' or 'tag' a place, a being, a 'thing' or even an idea. They give things a name that we can call upon in everyday life for instance. They vary in class but all have the same application, such as: Your name, a physical object or the city you live in.

Nouns are most likely "subjects" within communication and/or reference.
i.e. Daniel is happy. Daniel being the subject and noun.

Lesson two: What are pronouns and how are they different to nouns?

Like nouns, this class of words or lexis are used as labels and in most, if not all cases are used as subjects. However in a different way. For example: The sentence, "Ghostx punched Mike Tyson" can be substituted for "He punched him."So from the example you probably have guessed that pronouns are words such as: He, she, him, her, we, us, them, it, that, etc.

Lesson Three: What are verbs and how should we use them?

A verb in short, is a "doing word". They tend to declare an action. E.g. "Ghostx is WRITING this thread" or "you are READING this thread". A few mistakes i see all over the threads is... "He learned me it all" or "Can you learn me mapping" While the correct term would be teach or taught. "He TAUGHT me it all" or "Can you TEACH me mapping".

Lesson Four: What are adverbs and how are they different to verbs and adjectives (see later).

Adverbs are words which describe an action (no shit!). They are used to modify a verb or verb phrase using answering questions such as: how?, when? and where? E.g. How did he run? -> He ran SWIFTLY".
Adverbs can also be used to modify an adjective. E.g. He was VERY quiet. 'Very' being the adverb here. As you can see it adds more information to the phrase.

Lesson five: What are adjectives and how should we use them?

These are descriptive words. We use these to describe a thing, idea, place or a being. E.g. Ghostx is an AWESOME guy. 'Awesome' being the adjective. We generally use adjectives to add effect or emphasise a word or phrase.

Now you have learned these simple rules, i hope you can learn from them ^.^.

Some more examples of the different classes:

Note: My spellings of words such as "emphasise" are in English form. The American forms are "emphasize" etc.

Now you have no excuse for saying "I learned you English."

REPEAT AFTER ME! "I TAUGHT you English".

If you're still learning this stuff in english class, you must be in third grade.

Prest in sweden you learn english in like 2nd grade when you are 8/7 years old and it get better each grade im in grade 8 now 2 years left and im done from school

In Portugal the normal is 7 years of English classes, from 5th to 11th grade.

Did all the correct capitalizations, the comma in the right place and a dot at the end of the sentence, I want my cookie now please!! :)

In England it's the same lol. Though, once in year 10, you move on to other shit like, creative writing, analysing language features n shit.

I'm kind of disappointed in myself, I got A-/+ on all our essays etc but in the end I only got a C. I think it's because I always came LATE and never studied on our homework xD.

GIEF COOKIE NOW!

To be honest, I don't care if people don't use correct grammar, it's fine for me so long I can understand them.
Not to mention that not everyone gets english classes.

If it's not their main language you can't blame them.
