I've been starting with a remake of enigma city (Will be worked more at)

I was almost ready with the boat right now, but then it lagged and it was shutted down, so Im going to make this new again ;/
 
I don't like it at all. Id take the real enigma any day.. Atleast what you did on the screen probbly took you like 5-10min?
 
@WibbenZ - Is it just your personality or did you purposely talk down others work with no effort to tell them what to better. This is where the whole "If you don't have nothing nice to say, don't say it at all"

I don't even know the poster, but your ignorance angers me. Who cares if it took him 5-10 minutes, he's trying something new.

@man boob - Try adding some details, technically it looks fine for just starting out. Once the town is built the way you want, there no reason you can't go over and revamp and fully detail.

Great job so far for just starting out, keep it up and don't listen to comments like WibbenZ where they offer no help and just post blatant ignorant statements.

When all he did, was add grass, a couple of walls, and another tile for the houses. This is a start sure, but nothing atleast I would showoff.
But ofc its up to him, and I say what I want, If you feel you have nothing to say, thats up to you.

What you probbaly mean is the shapes, if you ask me, I always start with what you did, but skip the doodad, except on waters etc. And try to not use the "a" function - auto magic. Trust me if you do that, and use raw abit more, it will look loads of better.

Some people like it, some dont. The fact its just a walls and grass right now means nothing, how do you think I started Aragon. Undetailed areas to start, that I later revamped.

@Boob, yes; just keep doing what your doing. You only get better with practice!

P.S. - The outer shape means nothing, its how you decorate the interior. Don't get me wrong, square buildings do tend to get boring, but if you look at Peroxide.. most of his buildings tend to be built off squares and rectangles and he's one of the top respected mappers here on OTLand.

And like WibbenZ said, when detailing - don't use auto border :) Build your city, then go completely raw and customize everything.
