i cannot start my 8.6 rlmap server !!
Error

loading config <config.lua>
opening logs
using sha1 encryption
checking software version...failed checking - malformed file.
loading RSA key
starting sql connection to database - MySQL Error: can't connect to my sql server on 'localhost' <10061> <2003>

The problem is no one read the rules before posting. And the solution is. Check if your mysql server is turned on. Check if the connection details is right on config.lua

What make you sure that he is using mysql ?
Do u offer a fast solution before finding where the problem is !?
You know what, try to ask about details to give him a useful answer.

As i said read the rules before posting. You just double posted. Anyways. That error means he cannot connect to the database.

If you use sqlite, that doesn't matter at all. The problem is that your server is not showing the same settings as you show from the config.lua you posted.
So you are editing the wrong config.lua, you forgot to save it or you didn't close all servers before you restarted the server.

If you want to use MySQL, you can follow this tutorial

If you use SQLite you don't have to setup anything, just sqlType = "sqlite" is enough, and the s3db file, if you use MySQL you have to set it up with user name, password and all like you can see in that tutorial.

Try to use search box to find answers.

Change localhost in config.lua to 127.0.0.1

And make sure that you editing the right config.lua which comming with .exe you are running "which is been compilined" right ?

The point of the rules is to keep the forum clean. If you have other ides then report the rules post(just like I did with this exact rule) and it might get added / changed.
