A way of saluting? I don't think people will take that kindly if you salute them like that. If you weren't ignorant you would know that that salute is offensive to many.

Im austrian and i dont give a fuck about that salute, they are not screaming any nazi parols or r doing anything wrong, so get over it.
People like u are the worst kind of person that exists, you dont know whats offensive so dont talk bout it, most austrians dont care bout that and neither do foreigners, and im a foreigner myself in a country full of neo nazis.

Collz I too am from America, more specificaly, the US and i don't find that offensive, maybe you do, and some people do also, but that is Their opinion, and yours too, so its not everybody who feels like that, I'll make a bet that alot of people see that solute and they won't give a crap about what it signifies, and Hitler wasnt the one who started that solute. Just saying.

Perhaps Jews, Poles, Russians, Ukrainians, and many more? The people who actually SUFFERED under Nazi brutality and occupation. Most foreigners DO CARE, that doesn't mean we can't joke around. But don't make the mistake of thinking that Slavic peoples and Jews have forgotten what the German people did, it's part of our history and we will never forget. Many people don't know the limit to jokes, I'm polish and I make nazi jokes. But there IS A LIMIT, and most people(mostly Americans, Canadians, Germanic people) cross the line because their people didn't suffer, and it is disrespectful IMO.

Yes but Americans weren't murdered by Germans so maybe that's why they don't care? No Hitler didn't start it, but the Pan-German nationalist and aggressive movement is where it was first seen, and it was first adopted as a manner of address by the Nazi party. And it was REQUIREMENT for civilians, but optional for military personnel. It is MOST CLOSELY ASSOCIATED with the Nazis, more specifically Hitler, and only during Hitler's reign did masses of people salute to one man. Maybe Americans don't give a crap about history because they don't have much of it, but Eastern Europeans who were AFFECTED THE MOST by world war 2, sure as hell give a crap. So learn to show some respect. It's spelled "salute", I can't believe that most foreigners speak better English than Americans.

Secondly its just a salute, if you get insulted by it, sounds like a personal problem to me lmao
