^ My first mapping. I know it's shit, but the point with this thread is that I want YOU to write what I need to do, and what to change to be a good mapper.

Worst I've seen, if you cant see yourself what you need to do, then stop mapping. Also there's a section on this forum where there's mapping tutorials.
 
You need to practise. Take a look in the tutorial section here on OtLand and you'll see fast improvement. It's only possible to map if you've got creativity.
 
2 types of grounds and 3 different decorating things? i would say MORE! or VARIATION
go on whit that and make another pic (whit F11, makes the hunting spawn thingy go away)
