No thanks.

Let's keep the trash on the dead forum which you came from. VAPus.
Crystal Server is the most updated and I think the best option for open tibia now. Despite what you may think of Tryller or whatever.

I've been helping to debug server luas from 0, created quests, systems, mechanics, everything, every detail. I also upgraded the map with all the texts, graves, books, everything. And also helping to fix some source issues.

Why?

Well this is just my hobbie and I do it for free for the community that has given me so much, isn't like I've picked a side. I respect the canary team very much, is just that this is the best option for free open tibia now. Tryller has done an amazing job and I just want to help!

I'd like so much to inspire more people and help us to debug more, you can see all the progress we have here:

And If you are to lazy to set the server on and debug, just create a character at my online server and report bugs at our discord!
Like u saw, I'm doing my best to enhance the quality of open tibia forever.

Thank You for reading and I hope we all can join to have the perfect Tibia emulation!

Amazing job and best option = copying Canary C++ code and PR's, leaking code from a guy, heavily using AI to refactor code and a bunch of people who uses the base contracting services with people to fix bugs and inconsistencies.

But Lua, sign texts and quests are 🤠👍

Tested this project locally on Windows, looks good!. I also ported OTCv8 to support the weapon proficiency system, Cyclopedia, Wheel of Destiny, and other newer CipSoft modules. Considering testing it live soon.

Also got it working with ported 15.11 SPR & DAT files instead of asset files.

Looks cool, but hard to develop this since I dont know how much of the newer systems should work ^^.

And i think this is a base from canary right? And i like the systems that u dont need those xml files like other bases has, No fkn movements.xml & weapons.xml Just define it all smart in items.xml. AND the best clientIDs directly no items.otb needed or itemeditor.

Yes, it's canary but way better. Please join us and share your progress with us. OTCV8 in Crystal Server would be great.

Crystal is the first 'trans-engine' in history: it identifies as its own project, but deep down it’s just a Canary modified by AI. If you removed the OpenTibiaBR links from your Discord, there would be nothing left to see.

I don't care, I don't pick a side like I said, the fact is that crystal is yeah, a copy but superior. Lastest updates, no serious bugs, and I wanna help to improve open tibia experience for everyone.

If canary ever gets better I might move there and share what I've done so far, but it's way too complicated to move there and start over. (I've fixed hundred of bugs in the datapack already!) So please, join crystal server canary copy or whatever u want to call it!

It's not about who or how. It's about keep open tibia free :D With the quality we deserve!

Share ur progress with us!

I believe that if Canary had maintained more consistent updates by incorporating new protocols, Crystal probably would never have emerged.
The main reason people use Crystal is because it “has the latest features.”
In my opinion, there aren't any truly skilled developers in that repository:
  • Paco is noob.
  • Tyler, during a Discord stream, implemented protocol 15.23 based on a leak; he didn’t code a single line himself, but used the Cursor AI to generate the code for compatibility with the leak. For version 15.24, they simply provided him with a diff of the update, so he didn’t contribute anything significant on his own.

Man, I truly don't care. I don't think any regular ot user cares. The fact is that crystal is better is because simply the content is available, I remember long before crystal people used to sell protocols and stuff in high prices. There is nothing wrong with making money with your work but... If canary would have monk and all the content earlier I'd be there debuging and not in crystal.

Despite the result, the crystal is doing it's part is allowing us to play with the lastest features.

You are free to take my fixes and use them on canary, that's why it's OPEN SOURCE, same as tryller did with canary, and canary with TFS.

My work won't take a side. I'd be glad to help in canary too if they get serious in updates!

What I am doing is good for everyone and there's more quests and debug coming.

Please stop the resentment and let's hold hands to create the perfect Tibia emulation!

Just imagine we reach that point! It would be awesome, it doesn't matter the name or the way, we are all brothers of the same womb, canary, crystal, tfs we all do our part!

Much respect for TFS and Canary Team!

PD: If there really was directly stolen content, I don't support that. I had no idea of this matter. If the content was leaked to public well there's nothing we can do. :/

Do you agree with this?

In my opinion, some Canary teams seem to focus more on selling fixes than actually fixing the public base.

I think it is wrong to charge money to sell bug fixes for an open-source base. If the project is public and the team itself leaves code, systems, or functions broken, incomplete, or full of bugs, the correct thing would be to fix it and send the solution back to the community, not turn it into a paid service.

One thing is charging for custom systems, private work, or something exclusive for someone. That I can understand.

But charging to fix problems from the public base itself is wrong, in my opinion.

It hurts the community, because many people use the base, find issues, do not know how to fix them, and end up depending on paid support for a fix that should already be available in the project.

Exactly! With the course of time we should reach perfect Tibia emulation not a market of codes.

It would be way better if the perfect Tibia base is free for everyone, this would encourage ot owners to create custom content or pay for it, becasue every open tibia server is a copy of a copy of the same elseif hell in codes and broken content. There's no quality in average open Tibia, if we all have the same fixed server this would enhance the gameplay of open tibia itself because people would be forced to create new things! Ideas!

I'd be glad to work in custom content for money, selling fixes for a free base feels wrong to me aswell.

Exactly. That is my point too.

Selling custom content, private systems, or exclusive work is completely fine. But selling fixes for a free/open-source base feels wrong.

A stable public base would help everyone, and then developers could focus more on creating new content, custom systems, and better ideas instead of everyone fixing the same bugs over and over again.

What makes you say that?
Let me see; I looked for your profile among the contributors of the OpenTibiaBR projects and didn't find it, not even in the issue reports. I might be mistaken, but it seems like you haven't had many contributions.

I'm done here.
no time for chorumelas bro

I don’t like working with Canary/Crystal at all — those bases are not for me.

And yeah, I’ve heard more than enough people saying the Canary team charges to fix bugs that should’ve been fixed in the public base already. That alone says a lot.

So honestly? I’m not touching Canary or Crystal Server. Not worth my time.

Do you work in TFS or which is that other project? It's open source?
