Linux FTP connection problems.

So i'm trying to connect with my ftp server by fillezilla:

Status: Connection ankled, waiting for greet message...
Answer  	220 ProFTPD 1.3.4a Server (Debian) [xxxx] 
Direction:	USER xxxxx
Answer  	331 Password required for xxxxx
Direction:	PASS ********
Answer   	530 Login incorrect.
Error:	critical error
Error:	Cloud not connect with server

I made my set up ftp by this tutorial http://otland.net/f138/simple-ftp-tutorial-debian-ubuntu-103502/
That is when i write "proftpd" in putty.

What shloud i Do ?

@Edit: My OS is ubuntu1204-server_64, got dedicated server on OVH.

The ftp server mows the user exists, but the password is plainly incorrect.

Try to remove the users password, then try again.
Also try it on localhost, to see if it works then.

So what? Just connect to FTP using Putty as you seem to be able to use that correctly.
