Hi!
So, my friend is putting together an otserver and I've been helping him compiling some of the newer tibia-sprites into an older client. And I thought hey, why not try to make some stuff on my own? I've made some sprites way back in the past and have always been checking in here from time to time to see some cool sprites.

Thought that I'd start out with some simple designs and try some different techniques/programs to get a feel for it. I'd love to hear some feedback on the few things I've made, and I will probably keep updating here as soon as I get some time over.

The dagger and the mace are the main point of what I'm looking for feedback on, the karambit and bayonet are merely a product of me having a lot of time over during CS-games because I suck :d

as for beginning is really good to me. I would just focus now to add more detail to it so it seem less blurry. use some different shades of colours to make it pop out and have some nice contrast

Thanks, I'll try to fit in some more detail onwards, not quite sure how but I'll try :)
These are supposed to be made out of crocodile/lizard leather/scales, not really happy with the kneepads but overall I think they look decent.

Got feeling for it and also made this pair of legs, tried to make a cape covering one leg

the red scale legs looking good in term of detail, but the shape is weird to me. still, good job on these :)

Tried making a creature, had no real idea with it but its supposed to be a slithering mammal. No idea how to manage to make the movement and the north-facing look good tho

hey that was a nice progress, next time, try to get a real concept art, to follow as idea, this way you'll manage to put more details, take a nice one, i highly recommend magic the gathering cards as refs, most of the arts are very full and detailed, so its a good choice to practice.

About moving and doing north, take some time to study another sprites, like tibia sprites that have same aspects as yours, one that have this kind of pose is crawler, sea serpent, take a look at then, and study how it was did, then you can apply same stuff at yours.

Spriting is actually very simple, is just a matter of understand how the light works

Thank! Yeah, I do suppose working with a reference is way easier. I've kinda been on the track to use some hearthstone-art as reference, but magic is a good shout too, probably not a shortage of references on the internet anyway^^
and man, patience is really what im struggling most with, that thing took me a week of going in and changing 3 pixels at a time

I agree with the great master!

but a censorship coming from me, don't get attached to the concepts, impose yours, based on your facts and learning.
always be patient when finishing an art, this is another key

Very good! Though it lacks some contrast to make it have a little bit more depth. Nice job though, keep posting :)

found it way harder making the backside, struggled a lot. don't think it looks as good as the front but still think it looks ok
I would have the legs more separated and the outline also applied in few pieces inside the creature to have the arms and body more distinguishable. Would work on the highlight as well :)
