Getting linux

Im thinking of getting linux on my server computer, but i wish to keep Windows aswell. Anyone that can give me some advice on how to install linux, where to get it and so on? never used linux or 2 systems at same computer before. any advice would be greatful.

u just download the windows installer from their site here:
Download | Ubuntu
then it will download & install it

to hightec for my taste xD. i just want linux to be open while i host my ot servers. And when i wish to play games/watch movies i enter windows ^^

I want to warn you!
I had Windows and Linux in same computer with GRUB (you can choose which OS you want ot use when you start computer)
When I updated my Ubuntu to 10.04, I couldn't be able to use windows anymore, when I try it is just black screen.
I dunno, maybe this can be repairable but I don't care.

So be careful when you update Linux! :thumbup:

I know lol, but when it happened I wasn't very experienced in linux, but now I think Linux is better and i don't even try to fix it.
Maybe then when I stop making OT stuffs

It's also handy if you don't wanna have problems with your Windows you could if you have 2 hard disk's in your computer unplug 1 hard disk with Windows on it and then install Linux and after your finished you can put Windows back in. (Your PC has to be off)
