Well was just checking webarchieve and checked on tibias website in 2008 53k players online. A dream :/
Ive also checked on some of the news articles and around 2008 cip still cared about the community and launched funny events and stuff it seems :/

They wont. I cant imagine Tibia to have more players than all the OTS anytime soon.

The only reason it is still going is because there aren't many 2d games like it left. Hardly any new players join because it literally has become P2P for an old outdated graphical game. Thais used to be so busy, all the time. You'd likely have to *dare I say it* go DOWNSTAIRS in the depot to find a depot box back then.

Realistically the players that are on it now are either their for nostalgia and have preexisting memories or leave within a month - why spend time playing a 2d mmorpg when there are so many free(ish) 3d games out there with more features and better graphics.
Granted Tibia could run pretty much fine on windows xp with a standard graphics card and that's still something it holds.

OTS would survive longer than real tibia anyway.. On the sole basis that it's relatively simple to set up a server of your own thanks to the tfs team.
