Lets begin with EVERYTHING IS FOR CASH. That is why they are not bankrupt!
But this series isn't really cash boostish.
Release date for each major (not counting stories or dlc) game is years from each other (except for vice city and gta iii)
gta iv was released 4 years after its best selling game (at that time) was released. If the series was just for cash boost they
would have made a major game during that 4 year interval!

Lets take a look at Call of Duty (one of the cash boosting games example I have)
COD releases a game every single fucking year! from 2003-2012 (except '04)
THAT IS WHAT A CASH BOOSTING GAME IS!
