Hey.. I've been trying to come back mapping here's my old and small thread:

Right now I've started working on new island called Newbia which similar to rookgard and its for beginners
I hope that I'll bring much more pieces.. that's what I got so far:

Well I continued mapping.. not so much but to keep the thread alive I'll keep post them..

so far I'm on the stores area so here's the half way..
and please give me comments so I'll know if its good or bad.. and what to change and what to work on...

I like that you check your mapping on a character named Check. ^_^


Some of your doorways have Grass Borders in front of them

and others have the pathway leading all the way to the door.

Might be intentional but it bugged me xD, but I'm just a scripter what do I know.

randomize the wall types, don't put thick grass borders on a grass, add generally more details, look at others' works to get inspired

I always look at others works and I know my details are similar.. even when I'm going through the raw few times I cant find new details..

and about the walls.. want to ask..
I'm making small town.. isnt that better to make all the area looks the same? like in real life.. no?

And in real life you'll never have a village of buildings with exactly thesame walls. You gotta randomize em, eg. make second floors of framework walls, add some interesting architecture ideas or something...
