Help with 8.62 dat editor

I know there are some other tutorials or w.e. on how to get TibiaEditor to open 8.6 dat files, problem is they are not working for me.
I tried this one which bassically says I have to replace the formats.xml with the one he suggests, tho it's not working for me.
So I would like some kind of help in here; what am I doing wrong, etc, etc.

yeah, i had the same problem and i don't remember how i fixed it xD. I remember an error occurring about a missing byte or unknown byte.. something like that. Anyway I think i ran into another tibia 8.60 folder (for some reason i had two installed) and the other .dat file worked.. so basically what worked for me was another .dat file, but it was still 8.60.. just mess around with it. Something might happen

oh, wait. I thought you were talking about dat editor. Youre talking about tibia editor.. my mistake.

When you go to open dat do you select auto-detect? Try instead selecting 8.62
