Windows Hosting a server [legitimately]

So in the past I really wanted to host a server that I was working hard on, it was ran from my own computer but I just didn't have the power to back it up, but now that I've been working for a while I was really getting interested again in seeing how renting a host server works, could anyone elaborate on how it works please? I'd really appreciate that alot.

I'm a really creative person so if anyone helps me, I'd help them back if they need some unique ideas etc.

First you need to find a hosting service that works for you, consider prices, location, customer service.

If you want a decent price for a server specifically for ot servers I recommend checking out this thread:
