Hello guys,

I'm working on a project, and soon i want to host the server. Everybody is talking about VPS servers etc. but they are expensive and i prefer to host it on my own pc.. I need to handle 200-400 players max.

Should this be possible? No? Could u tell me some information...

Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz 2.39 GHz
3,00 GB RAM

Should this be enough to host a server for 200-400 players?

Owwh great, i am trying to do some research but its a lil hard to find some good direct information about it..
So 1 more question. I am trying to figure out which OS i should use Windows XP,Vista,7 or Linux

whichever you're most familiar with, I guess. if you're worried about TCP floods and want to configure IP tables, then I suggest you go with Linux. if you're not familiar with linux then go with xp/7.

oke, i never used linux before so i should use windows 7 (vista atm) But is windows 7 as good as linux? or should i learn linux :P
