I am looking for a hoster, what would be better windows (which I would rather have) or linux and why, also what hosting service should/would I go with.

Although I created a tutorial on how to setup linux on windows through virtual box.

My favourite hosting service is digitalOcean, they have a great control panel which makes it easy and great to set up new boxes:

Although it is fairly expensive, and does not contain ddos protection.
