We'll as the title says, how could I go about making a download and run server with no experience at all? I don't expect it to go big but I want to make it just so me and my friends can mess around

Just go for a distro and a data pack, they should fit together, just a note

then take a look at some networking guides, or do it via Hamachi.

It would take you about 2-3 hours to get the essential knowledge just to run an otserv, it's quite easy
