How do i add a field to my accounts table?

My server wont launch because im missing a field called salt in my accounts tale. how do i add a field named salt by sql query?

ALTER TABLE accounts ADD salt INT;

Noone can know what is supposed to be in the salt field, you should figure that out somehow.
