Hi people, well as you know, Im the owner of mtibia.cl, it is a nice server with a lot of players online...

I have choosed some tutors but they help just a few days and then they don't help anymore, so tutors sux...

So I answer the questions of all players online, they are around 200+ questions that they do... And you may ask: how you do this?

Well it is quite simple, you just tell them to press CTRL+R and write their questions on one line, and with your god open Rule Violations and you will have all the questions there, just right click and press "Process player Name" and there you will be able to talk with the player.

Using this method prevents spamm on help channel, if the player get bored of getting an answer, they close the channel and you have one answer less to attend :)

Opinions?

lol
@topic
well, if u want to answer the questions of all players online in a few minutes, make a F.A.Q or be online 24/365 lol

You will never have a F.A.Q 100%, that's why I use this method and it works great, also I give the chance to send me mails with their problems or to post on forums.

then stay online all the time..

then stay online all the time..

I don't know if you can, but I have to go to university, I need to finish my carreer, I have a girlfriend, some friends, family, and I can't stay online all the time, if you are a no lifer, then you can do this, that's why I posted this method, because it doesn't takes more than one hour to attend all the players (I attend around 400 questions in one hour).

get some REAL tutors.

I think that people like you doesn't understand what is an otserv, and doesn't understand too that people stay a few weeks on a otserv, and they don't want to waste time on that shit of "helping", they will help 1-2 weeks and then, they won't help anymore, Im telling this because I had mtibia for 6 years online and with lot of people always.

If you don't believe me, it's your problem, not mine, I started with OTs when Tibia was 7.1 (2002) and now we are at 2011, that are 9 years but at 2005 at 7.4 the OTs started to be more stable and that's when mtibia started to grow up having aroun 40-80 players here in Chile and since then it has been online.

This problem was solved when they invented forum and e-mail(which can be used for support). Gosh...

I do know i had once a 8.0 server where there was like 6 good tutors i had, But i agree its hard to find them.

But not all OTs want to publish an email for support or open a forum... That's why posted this method.

The problem is your server doesn't attract a very good community. If you can't find players who like to help out others, then the simple solution is to just answer the questions or just ignore them. If every player has to be told the exact same thing, then make an announcement using your GM broadcast. Players shouldn't have to be told all the answers, let them figure it out for themselves.

The community reduces every year from good to bad more and more..
So i know how you mean i had also troubles with searching it more then 3 years ago now its even harder, I wish you goodluck.

That isn't the problem, my host is limited and reduced to Chile, so people from all over the world can't play, and if I try to host the server out from Chile, all Chileans will have lag and I will be fucked up.

When I started to give a lot of attention to my players it started to grow up a lot, in one week increased from 100 to 200 players, then in a few weeks more took around 400-500 players online.

Just think that a OT is a company and administrate it like one, the success is only concentrated on the costumer service.

What COULD help is maybe a small faq with this:
No ingame depth questons (like rl tibia)
No asking for levels, eq or teleporting.
Those things should be ignored i am hard busy with my ot and making a wikia on it :).
If you want new GM's and you don't trust them then just give them only commands they can't abuse.
Like mine server does:
/ghost
/squelch
/t
/goto
/kick
/send
/unban
/town
/save
/clean
/reports
/mc
/wp
Yes, they could abuse kick, unban and ban, But you must also have a atleast some trust on them.

With /kick, /send, /t and /town they can abuse...
/kick playerName
/send playerName, x,y,z
/t playerName
/town city, playerName

If they are being killed, they can save them and that's power abuse.

i tought town was just /town, townid to tp yourself to a city and send i never tried that tough. Neither i tried /t, playername however as i said you shoul have at least some trust in them or else you shouldt make him/her GM but this was just something i tried to show ho they could lesser abuse with monsters summons like a very strong creature in front of temples and/or items exp giving and tp players randomly.

The point is that since it is an otserv and you don't pay them for their jobs, they soon or later they will fail... Im saying this because it took me 4 years to understand that it doesn't matter if they are real friends o virtual friends, they always fail.
