Lua How to make a simple quest.

My question is, where can I find a sample code of a simple quest. I mean, a quest where you may need to go talk to someone or use a certain object and return back to the person.

like a npc and when you msg him like that

player: hi
npc:dear player when I back from my work a bad monsters attacked me and stole my xxxx item , so please can you go bring them to me?
 
first case : player:no
npc:come back when you feel that you are going to help me
 
second case player:yes
npc:come back when you bring my item I've a reward for you
 
and when he get the item
 
player: hi
npc: did you found my item?
player:yes
npc:good work , here you are the reward I've promised you

that's what do u want?
or kill some monsters and back to npc get reward?
