How to plan a swamp city

I rather prefer cities which are on the same level as the swamp, is much cooler (not for mapping as i cant map myself but just for the little rpg'er in my body.)

Though, it's not a little RPG'er in fact. As humanity is clever enough to build OVER the swamp, to make sure nothing will sink
