As the title says, I'd like to ask how I can run a server on my IP address. I'm using Wi-Fi. Is there any guide? I have the server configured correctly, just enough to host it on my IP address where people can play?

You need open the TCP 7171,7172,80,3306 ports

Using http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 in most of cases to access to your router admin panel with (admin/admin)

If all right when you run your webserver your friends should can access to your website through your public ip from WhatismyIP | What Is My IP Address Location - WhatismyIP.net (https://www.whatismyip.net/)

Some ISP dont let you for some reasons host web servers from their service, if you have lucky then nice.

My recommendation is rent a VPS or a dedicated server from OVH or any better provider and host it there.

Also there are also usefull information about protect your server on the forum from network attacks: Alpha Proxy Guide (kondrah/otclient multi-path proxy) (https://otland.net/threads/alpha-proxy-guide-kondrah-otclient-multi-path-proxy.291492/)

Yes. You will faster understand how Linux works, then configure home network to host OTS.

If you register with my referral code, you will get 20 EUR to spend on servers for free:
You can get 4 cores, 8 GB RAM server with 1 gb/s network for 75 days with 20 EUR.
Good thing about Hetzner - compared to OVH - is that their servers are 'cloud'. They are paid by hour, not month and they are delivered in 15-30 seconds. If you fuck-up Linux learning 'how to host OTS', you can delete server and install new clean Linux server in 30 seconds.

Okay, thanks guys, I'll try your methods.

But I can't log into the panel. Neither one nor the other opens the website. I'm connected to my friend upstairs's Wi-Fi, do I have to log in to his router?

Yes. If you can. My internet providers require cable connection to router, to configure it. I cannot connect with WiFi and manage router.

I got 4 internet providers at home. 2 of them (LTE/5G - mobile) do not offer any possibility to host server at home (they have less IPv4 IPs than clients, so I'm probably sharing my IP with someone). One offers full access to my home router and another one offers access to home router after I go to their website client panel and click 'I know what I'm doing', so they give me IP and password to router control panel.

Like I said, it's often easier to learn Linux, than to configure server at home PC.
