Linux How to run an application?

Hello guys! Maybe this is a FUCKING newbie question.

But I just installed ubuntu 9.10 on my old computer

And downloaded tibia and mapeditor.

I was thinking about using the ubuntu computer just for mapping.


But I dont understand how to run an application.


When I double click on the tibia file or the RME file nothing happens.

If you're trying to run the windows version of those files you will need a program called wine.

If your trying to run the linux version then thats a little more complicated.
For tibia (I am just trying to remember because I no longer have linux os') run the tibia player or the tibia.sh

I really hate ubuntu I dont understand anything :S
