How to set mysql password?

hi my sql server has no password.. and ive been searching around on how to change it, im using xxamp, can anyone tell me how to do this?

I have the same problem over here. I've tried to change the password at the link you sent without result.
I have also tried to change to the password in Xampp/phpmyadmin/config.inc, (and changed the "$cfg['Servers'][$i]['AllowNoPassword'] = true;" to False, but then I just get access denied for some reason.


I would REALLY appreciate if anyone could help me out with this!
