How to split a server

Hi i have a 16 gb server and 2 ips, so i want to split the server to have 2.
I use Ubuntu 10.04

If all you want to do is start a new world, you can share the same resources without using a hypervisor (which is what was previously suggested)by running the other world on different ports.
