I’m doing a “survey” so I know which one is being used the most and according to that we’ll downgrade the latest TFS to make it compatible!


Answer these:
1. If you were to open a OT server, which version (protocol) will it be? (7.4?7.7?8.6?8.7?9.8?10.x?..and so on)

2. If you would play a server, which version would you prefer it to be?

I can't really answer the questions, but I can comment with a tidbit of information;

Based on the most popular and populated servers listed on sites like otservlist, 8.6 is far more popular than 7.4

My preferences are more towards custom servers. But considering we have a pretty decent 8.6 server made by ninja with tfs 1.2 already, I think 7.4 would be best, I'd love to see all the 7.4 posts in support thread be for tfs 1.x.

True, Ninja attempt is appriciated, but keep in mind it is abandoned, has bugs, and is behind many new patches that were added to the latest TFS

Last release according to his thread was 2nd February 2016

It can be a whole new discussion about why 8.6 are so popular today.

If you are talking about to replicate Real Tibia, the nearest thing are the hacked files from Zanera (7.6 server/7.72 client) protocol at that time.
If you can replicate the server side (Monster A.I., etc) no other protocol is more suited to downgrade.
I prefer 7.4 in terms of playability and old school gameplay because Tibia was a hardcore mmorpg, and now it's dead.
IMHO after 7.4 Tibia was never the same.
I left Tibia after 7.72 release because of that, same as most of my friends. For easy/to/play/mmorpg we have WoW.

There's not decent 8.0 distros available on otland( and other tibia forums) just outdated stuff , the best one is that was downgraded by Ninja .
Maybe with a actual distro we can have some good 8.0 servers to play , not just originaltibia/Kasteria

8.0 u mean everything 8.x or you mean 8.0 specifically. We r planning on doing 8.6 first most probably
