Interested in building a 7.6-8.0 server with modern systems and custom GUI

Would like a team to work with. Anyone up for such a project? Low rate xp to keep levels balanced and not too high, most stuff customized to avoid copy paste like many others. I do not wanna spill all my ideas here so if interested feel free to PM me.

I've done servers since 2011 here on OTLand. Forgot my acc, therefore a new one now. Thanks ciao.



Some question marks: what type of map? Im thinking a RL map customized to get the old vibes alongside with a new feeling. Dunno. Random idea that just hit me, so thoughht might as well make a thread and see if anyones active even.

I am from Sweden, 27y old. Very experienced in computers, programming, web servers, hosting, scripting... you name it. I also enjoy mapping but it aint my strongest side. If you send a PM feel free to introduce urself too. Tyvm!!

There will be plenty of people active and you still not get any responses I am afraid. Not trying to talk shit or anything like that, it's just that saying that you used to have an account, doesn't really do anything at all for your credibility for starters, and the other important thing is that you don't at all specify what it is even that you offer or bring to the table, and the last thing that really doesn't help is that you picked "old school" server....

The reason I think an old school server choice only aids to hinder your endeavor to seek a valuable team to work for you, is that the old school server developers are typically highly competitive, and that the particular "potential pool" is very weak there for players and thus for money. Most players actually prefer to play on the most up to date, feature rich, and stable server they can find, that still offers a fun pvp experience.

My recommendations:
  • Present some proof to your experience, such as a portfolio
  • Provide a clearly defined roles that yourself will fill, and that you seek for others to fill
  • Offer some sort of rough outline as to why your server is a good prospect and not just another project in a sea of dead projects
  • Be prepared to do the work on your own
  • Start a development thread showcasing your work and proving your dedication by keeping it updated.
  • Perhaps reconsider your target audience, as a much larger potential pool of clients could potentially mean a larger pool of potential partners
PS. You should probably take into consideration my recommendations and start a new thread in the "Jobs" section, or request this thread to be moved, as this is the wrong place for such a topic.

Nothing wrong with being honest. Maybe think twice before you post dumb shit. Why would I spoil my future plans for a public forum with folks not even intererested to join the project the slightly? Maybe ur one of those who live off stealing ideas. Where ur server located at?

I like the idea, im high skilled in building ots (not a pro but i can do a little of everything). A 7.4 map with new up/down floors caves and hunts would be great. Nowadays people do not like to walk much. A litle 7.4 map is enough. You can create a frost dragon and crystal spider in folda for example. A new stunning behemoth or demon hunt on kazz... Adding bestiary/bosstiary/cyclopedia is something cool. Id like to move on it.

I dont believe he did anything wrong, he gave you feedback of your post, thats it, not a shit poster, you are overly defensive for nothing. Just take the help from someone with experience in the matter, no need to fight over stupid shit haha.
